The app simplifies food truck management by enabling owners to schedule their locations ahead using real time location GPS, customize hours of operation, and share a public URL showcasing their locations, menu, and contact information. It also offers an interactive map, making it effortless for foodies to find their favorite trucks any time.

Planing Phase

This phase focused on defining the app’s purpose, target audience, and problem-solving approach. I crafted the user journey, identified pain points for food trucks, and developed wireframes and sketches for each screen. A detailed functionality list was created to guide the app’s development and ensure a seamless experience for users.

Brand Design: Simplicity and Engagement

I designed the complete brand identity for My Food Truck App, including the logo, global styles, and visual elements. The brand reflects simplicity and vibrant colors, making the app inviting and user-friendly for both food truck owners and customers.

UI / UX Design:  Seamless Experience for Users

I meticulously crafted the user experience and interface for every aspect of the platform, implementing responsive designs optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. This included a marketing-focused landing page tailored to food truck owners and customers, a feature-rich dashboard, and all SaaS screens. I developed user-centered workflows and designed dynamic email marketing templates, as well as visually engaging social media content and templates. Additionally, I produced video assets leveraging motion design principles to boost user engagement and drive social media interaction.

Custom Mobile Development: Building a Robust Platform

Using Flutter technology, I developed the app with Firebase as the backend service, integrating it with Google Cloud, SendGrid, Stripe, and WebHooks, while building over 35 custom functions to handle specific app requirements. Key challenges included automating GPS-based location updates for food trucks, developing a system to toggle truck statuses (open/close) and dynamically move map pins based on schedules, and integrating custom backend functions with FlutterFlow for seamless functionality. While FlutterFlow played a pivotal role in developing the PWA and mobile apps, coding custom functions ensured the app met all planning-phase requirements.

Publication and Marketing

From graphics and videos to animations, email, and SMS marketing, I spearheaded all marketing efforts for My Food Truck App alongside my wife and partner, Mabel Luna. Together, we manage the creation of tutorials and onboarding materials, direct outreach to food trucks, running Facebook Ads, maintaining social media, and publishing ongoing content. This hands-on approach ensures the app’s continuous growth and success.

Future Implementations: Expanding Functionality

The next steps include publishing the app on iOS and Android. Additionally, an AI-powered Auto Social Media Posting feature is in development, allowing food trucks to automatically generate posts with schedules, locations, hours, and menus from the app’s data. Our marketing efforts will remain a constant, ensuring the app’s visibility and adoption.
