Global entertainment brands like TiVo handle massive libraries of digital assets that must be distributed to internal stakeholders and external partners. When media management is handled through fragmented systems, it creates severe bottlenecks: administrators struggle to categorize files efficiently, and partners face friction when trying to locate and download the secure content they are authorized to see.
The objective was to architect and design a custom, enterprise-grade Media Management Portal from the ground up. The platform needed to balance strict security protocols with seamless usability, empowering admins to manage thousands of assets, configure complex campaigns, and grant specific, role-based access permissions to external partners.
Before touching high-fidelity visuals, I mapped out the complex workflows required for bulk media categorization, campaign creation, and partner onboarding. I developed comprehensive wireframes to establish a clean information architecture, significantly reducing cognitive load for administrators managing large datasets.
To ensure the portal could grow alongside TiVo’s expanding asset library, I established a comprehensive, scalable design system. I defined global UI tokens, typography hierarchies, and reusable interface components. This systematic approach not only accelerated the high-fidelity design phase but also ensured pixel-perfect consistency during front-end development.
Security was key for TiVo’s unreleased media. I designed a secure, frictionless login experience alongside highly intuitive user-management interfaces. This allowed administrators to easily assign, modify, and revoke granular access permissions, ensuring partners only interacted with authorized content.
I translated the wireframes and design system into final high-fidelity interfaces, featuring dedicated dashboards for high-level overviews, campaign management, and granular asset filtering.
Beyond just providing interactive prototypes and motion-driven UI specs, I actively supported the custom development of these components on WordPress, bringing the designs to life using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
Following the initial build, I conducted rigorous QA and tested the platform with real users, rapidly iterating and improving the interface based on their direct feedback to ensure the final implementation perfectly matched the validated UX strategy.
The success of this custom portal wasn’t just about delivering a clean interface, it was about solving complex operational bottlenecks for TiVo’s enterprise team. By bridging UX strategy with custom front-end development, I was able to unlock significant, measurable value across the board.
40% faster asset retrieval: Streamlined the dashboard architecture and implemented advanced filtering, drastically reducing the time it takes partners to locate and download media.
100% secure role-based access (RBAC): Designed an intuitive user-permission interface that guaranteed full compliance with internal security policies, preventing unauthorized asset distribution.
